Volunteerism and Tutoring

Volunteerism

Mercer students have long been active in the community on their own through student organizations, from philanthropy efforts of Greek organizations and honor societies to student chapters of service organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. In addition to volunteer opportunities, students eligible for Federal Work Study may be eligible to complete work study serving as a tutor at a local school or as an intern for a nonprofit organization.

How to Get Involved

The Center for Leadership and Volunteerism (in the lobby of the Connell Student Center) serves as the clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities and community work-study for the Macon Campus. For more information, contact Carrie Ingoldsby in the Office of Campus Life. Work-study students should contact Ina Vaughns at (478) 301-5370 or vaughns_i@mercer.edu.
